Definitions
Tactical problems: divided into offensive, defensive, and transitional concepts.
Offensive concepts: imply that your team has control over the puck and is making a play to score.
Defensive concepts: imply that your team does not have the puck and is in a defensive situation preventing a goal being made.
Transitional concepts: refer to the situation going from offense to defense and vice versa where as a player you have to prepare to
shift form one to the other.
Off-the ball movement: used when you are off the ball based on the circumstance your team is in. (ie. offense, defense or transition).
On-the-ball skills: skills used while you have possession of the ball based on and are based on the circumstance your team is in (offense, defense or transition).

Based on the BC IRP the content of the unit also includes safety, fair play and leadership objectives. For this age of students the following content will be developed throughout the course. Note the prescribed learning outcomes of which the following objectives have been selected
BEHAVIOUR OBJECTIVES
These objectives will be obtained by the students being actively involved throughout the unit in the following ways:
- Gathering and Distribution of Materials and Equipment

TASKS in the UNIT
- Students will be given multiple opportunities to work together in a variety modified games and activities
- Students are encouraged to work outside their normal peer group
- Students are responsible for clean up and replacement of equipment used for students to work in cooperative and competitive situations
- Act in an appropriate manner towards all members of the class and model accepted classroom behaviour.
