Off-the-ball Tactical Awareness

Phase One - Preparatory Phase:

  1. -Knees bent

  2. -Move into a position to receive pass

  3. -Hand is up presenting a target

  4. -Upper body parallel to object

Phase Two - Wind Up Phase

  1. -Keep eyes on the target

  2. -Get base into low ready position to absorb the ball

Phase Three - Force Phase:

  1. -See the target into both hands

  2. -Eyes continue to stay on the object

  3. -Wide base

  4. -Soft hands to absorb the pass

Phase Four: Recovery Phase:

  1. -Absorb the ball into body for control

  2. -Anticipate next play - running or passing
