Volleyball Bump Cues

 

 

 

Practice Progression

 

  1. Bump to self – allow a bounce for those that struggle.
  2. Use wall to bump to self then to wall then to self ...etc.
  3. Partner throw feed.  Feeder make partner move.
  4. Bump to self then to partner in a rally
  5. Return to “over-space” with a one on one game
  6. Extend to “over-space” game with a two on two games, double the court area.  Limit to 3 touches each pair.

 

Application game:  In 2 on 2 “over-space” game focus on setting up for attack by getting ball to partner.  Ask students to decide how they score, how they start and re-start the game.  Ball must be hit upwards above head height.  Play up to four points.  Winning players court is made 1 m wider and longer.
