Closure

Go over what we did in class today- “defending, and mini-game”

Check for understanding of what was learned today

Tell students what’s coming up next day

Remind students of anything they need to bring

“What skills did we learn today?”

“What are some skills we learned to stop the ball from rolling away?”

Tomorrow class, we will be doing passing, please remember to bring full gym strip, especially proper footwear as the hockey sticks are bound to hit each others feet and bare feet won’t do.

Skill Development/Concept

-person starting has to dribble in control around the defender then shoot

-shooter becomes defender, then becomes target, then back in line

-for even more difficulty add more defenders or even a goalie

-Area of play –  20 m by 30 m.  Players 5 v 3.

1.- Attacking team must make 5 passes in zone 1, then 3 passes in zone 2, to then make 1 pass in final zone before being able to shoot

2.Cannot move with the ball

3.One defender in zone 1, then 2 defenders in zone 3 and finally 3 defenders in final zone.

4.If defender gets ball or ball out of area then defenders win the game.
