Group Keep Away

Aim
To maintain possession of your puck while attempting to knock opposing player’s pucks out of playing area.

Rules
Can only contact ball with stick and 
If your ball leaves grid, must complete one lap of grid before resuming play

Organization and Set up
- Create one large grid using cones 
- Grid should be large enough so all students have room to move around
that is big enough for the whole class

Grid Tag

Aim
The goal is to tag the person in the middle with the ball.

 Rule
Person with the ball can only pivot on one foot
All the players need to stay within the boundaries.
When the person in the middle gets tagged, switch positions

Content Analysis
Tactical Problem: Offensive concept: Penetration/Invasion, Defend Space
Off-the ball movements: Move to open space, Marking,         Positioning

Organization and Set up
- Divide the students into groups of 4
Set up enough square grids with cone/spots
One person is in the middle and two on the outside.  The fourth person is the coach and modifying the parameters and rules of the game.
Assign one member of each group to retrieve sending and receiving equipment

- What are some techniques that will make this drill more successful?


Grid Game

Aim
To successfully pass the ball around the grid continuously






















                            This is an example of Grid Game with a Bean bag

Rules
Person with the ball can pass to either person
Once pass is made, one of the other people must move to the open cone/spot (space)

On-the ball skills: Passing, Receiving

- Set up enough square grids with cone/spots
- Divide the students into groups of 4

Aim
Keep the puck away from the person in the middle by passing and moving to the corners of the grid

        In this video they are playing with a ball which is the first stages of this.
                                Using sticks and pucks is a progression.
Rules
Can only contact ball with stick and 
If opposing player obtains the puck, the last person to touch the puck is now in the middle
Person with the puck can pass to either person

Endball 4 v 4

Aim
Score by passing to the player in the end zone receiver over the line marked by pylons.

Rules
Cannot move with the puck.
Defenders cannot steal the puck. (only intercept the pass)
No defenders in the end zone.
