Partner Shooting
Tactical Problem: Making Firm contact with the soccer ball as too shoot the ball across a space to a partner
Skill development: Using the instep or the top of the foot to shoot the ball accurately and with velocity
Teaching Points: 

Tactic

  • Pick target and then keep head down when striking the ball
  • Keep the ball low
  • Use instep or top of the foot to strike the ball
     

Skill 

  • Follow through with shooting foot
  • Plant off foot beside the ball
  • Try and hit partner with the shot

Organizational Points:
  • Partner up and line up across from one another about 20 ft apart
  • Insure adequate space between groups

Simplifications:

  • Move partners closer together

Extensions:

  • Move partners further apart
  • Have the ball passed to shooter and have them one time the shot
  • Move and then strike the ball
