Four lesson unit to introductory basketball

• ENTRY ABILITY limited understanding of  the basic rules of the game limited ability to catch an object ability to run without ball, stop and change direction  limited ability to dribble a ball limited ability to shoot ball into the basket

  • off the ball movements:

                   - tactical awareness and basic understanding of positioning
                   - ability to evade defender
                   - find and move to open space
                   - anticipate oppositions’ play
  
  • on the ball movements:

                   - pass and receive more successfully (maintaining possession)
                   - introduction to pivoting, dribbling, and shooting technique
