HALF NELSON TECHNIQUE
From prone position
Step
One: The Half Nelson can be executed when the offensive wrestler is on the side of their opponent. |
Step
Two: Reach underneath your opponent’s arm and place the palm of your hand on the back of their neck, and position your arm elbow to elbow with your partner. |
Step
Three: When you begin to apply force, make sure it is in a diagonal direction. This will prevent your opponent from suffering a neck injury. |
Step
Four: Block your opponents opposite arm with your free hand. |
Step Five: Using the power of your legs drive diagonally and finish chest-to-chest in a pinning position. |
Note: similar movement from the parterre position. Reach under with the free arm and grab their opposite arm above the elbow. Under control, break them down into the prone position by posting their elbow and driving at a diagonal, and finish the same way.
