TACTICAL PROBLEM: Moving partner out of a good ground position, and exposing their back to the mat using your opponent’s reaction to set up an offensive attack.

Introductory Game:

1. Rules: Everyone will start on one side of the mat. One person starts in the middle. When the student in the middle yells British Bulldog the students try to get to the other side of the mat on their hands and knees without having their back exposed by the student in the middle.

 -     Only one on one battles

1. So you have a good knowledge and skill of different techniques to use on your opponent. Also by practicing the tilts, they will be easier to execute in a match

2. Use set ups.  These are actions that make your opponent react appropriately for a desired attack.

1.Start with good def/off position

  • place hand to back of head
  • reach underneath arm with other arm behind head
  • press chest into opponent to turn
  • using half nelson as leverage

Counter: look away from attacking arm and pick off with same arm

2. Start with half nelson

·          partner reacts by dropping shoulder

·          grab elbow, drive with legs, and point elbow to the mat

·          place arm on back

  • circle around their body and pin

 

3. Start with one partner in flat on stomach and one partner on knees behind

·          partner between legs

·          shoulder to butt

·          wrap ankle into armpit

·          step over and sit

·          wrap other leg with bicep

  • get out and turn
