Relay Warm Up  (using the blue mats)

 

·        Divide class into groups of 4 or 6 depending on class size and mat space.

·        Separate group so half is on one side of the mat and the half is directly across.

·        Have each student do an activity as the cross the mat

o       crab walk (forward, backward)

o       crawl (forward, backward)

o       rolls

o       jumps (left foot , right foot, two feet)

o       stretching activates (lunge walks)

·        Turn activity into relays. First team to have students back in original spot wins.

o       #1-each student has to crab walk to the other end of the mat, tag their team-mates hand. Students finish where they started (means they cross the mat twice.)

o       #2-each student must do a roll (forward or backward) and tag their team-mates hand.
