This webpage provides information and resources concerning IED 359: Indigenous Language III – Wakashan. This course supports experienced students to continue learning the Wakashan languages Nuuchahnulth and Kwakwala at the third-year level. Our main goal is to achieve 40–60 hours of good oral practice, both in and outside of class, but we will also use writing, analysis, and planning to support learning. We will meet only online, using Zoom (see Video-conferencing).

Participants are organized into two cohorts, one learning Nuuchahnulth, and the other learning Kwakwala. Every week of the course includes a plenary meeting on Monday with both cohorts, a Nuuchahnulth-only Wednesday, and a Kwakwala-only Friday, amounting to 40.5 hours of instruction per language (see Schedule).
