Practical aspects of NMR: getting useful spectra and exploiting heteronuclei

Instructor: Lisa Rosenberg

Content: The theory of NMR and the gyromagnetic ratio. Extending the NMR experiment from 1H to other nuclei. Practical issues. What research questions can you answer using heteronuclear NMR? How well?

Delivery: according to student demand.

Assessment: an assignment (75%) that involves running spectra and presenting results to the class, and a short answer quiz (25%).

Pre-requisite: all students enrolled in this module must be trained in the use of TopSpin to process data from our NMR instruments. See Chris Barr to arrange training.
