...or welcome to the introductory section of the University of Victoria's Indonesian language course website. This site gives you the opportunity to get acquainted with the Indonesian language and to do some interactive language exercises. It is designed to give you an impression of the main Indonesian language course website, which is used at the University of Victoria for the beginner level courses in Bahasa Indonesia. You do not need to have any prior knowledge of the Indonesian language to do the exercises you will find in this introduction. Just click here to enter the world of Bahasa Indonesia.


Here is a brief explanation of the navigation buttons you will see on the pages of this site:

This button takes you back to the page you were previously on.
This button takes you to the index of the unit you are currently in.
This button takes you to the main home page of the site.
This button pops up a little glossary window. You can enter any Indonesian word from the site, and see its translation in English. You can also jump to a large online Indonesian dictionary (KEBI) for more information.
This button takes you on to the next page in the sequence.
This button appears on the index page for each unit. It takes you to the index page of the previous unit (so you can skip from unit to unit looking at the indexes).
