St. Ann's Convent School

This sketch outlines the modern St. Ann's Academy building which has since been purchased by the porvincial government after a monumental community effort to protect the buildings and grounds from destruction in the 1980s, when the Sisters of St. Ann could no longer afford to maintain them.

The original 1871 cornerstone may have been excavated or built over in 1882/6, when further additions were added. This is difficult to believe, since no record of the excavated time capsule exists, which would have at least surfaced to the on site museum (see previous page).
