Content Analysis - Lesson Overview

Lesson 1:  Exploring movement and beat.  Practicing how to move to different types of music and      using different expressions.

Lesson 2:  Starting to build short routines with specific movements alone and in pairs and taking turns presenting to half the class.

Lesson 3:  Pushing their bodies to try different sorts of movements, balances, and jumps, introducing apparatus into their dances.  Creating short routines with apparatus.

Lesson 4: As a group using a situation and music to explore movements and expression.  Incorporating apparatus and certain movements.

Lesson 5: Forming working groups and starting to create a dance based on a situation or event of   their creation.  Brainstorm with the class for ideas.  They will be responsible for music selection and story line.
