Registration and Forms

Instructions

  1. To compete in the team "Walkabout" you most have 5 people willing to take on a role in your team
  2. Nominate a captain for your team and select a team name.
  3. Team captain will collect $10 entrance fee for the team and complete the "Team registration" form listed here under forms.
    • Indicate pedometers required or use one you already own.
    • Include total amount for pedometers with registration.
    • Pedometers will be ordered within 4 days.
    • Deadline Mon Sept 10th.
    • Include $$ or cheque with registration.
  4. Competition starts on Monday Sept 17th and ends 10 weeks later on Sunday Nov 25th.
  5. When competition starts wear your pedometer and at the end of each day record steps on the "Weekly record chart" (see under forms). Add estimated steps for physical activities where pedometer can not be worn (i.e. swimming) or recording physical activity where pedometer does not register (i.e. bike riding). See "Equivalency Chart" for converting physical activity into steps. If at any time you forget to wear your pedometer or lose your step count use your average daily step count from the week earlier.
    • Bonus steps for walking with member fo own team should be added in "Bonus" column on weekly chart.
    • The chart will automatically calculate sum of all steps, including bonus steps for the week.
  6. At the end of each week go to the "Circle Canada P.E.D." website and log-in to enter your steps.
    • When you enter the "Circle Canada P.E.D" website for first time register and in the account option enter your team name (set-up by team Captain):Account

  7. Next time on the website just log-on and enter your "Total steps" for each day of the week, see images below:

    • For example, enter 10700 for Mon and 9600 for Tues, see image from website below:

  8. The "Circle Canada" website will show your personal distance covered, calories used and a map of the team's progress across Canada. Leading team map will be shown on the "Walkabout" website each week.
  9. Finally, referring to image below, at the end of the week send to your "Social Analyst" your bonus social steps (i.e. 1600 for week 2) and to your coach your weekly improvement in steps (i.e. 5800 for week 2).
