Zelner describes himself as a Druggist and Apothecary. Dr. Helmcken was also trained as an apothecary. Later Zelner took up dentistry out of his drug store.

The seal at the top of W.M. Serby's ad proclaims him to be a Member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.

De Cugis is a Member of the Imperial College of Paris. He claims to be able to quickly cure rheumatism and dysentery.
