UVic Chemistry department logo

Our new glovebox arrives at UVic, August 2001

The box arrives in the Elliott building sans antechamber.  Great department, but the elevator's too small.

l-r: Susanne Reiser (UVic Chemistry Graduate Secretary), Heavy Crew member #1 (Victoria Van & Storage),
 & Lisa Rosenberg

The box squeaks past benches and hoods in Elliott 329.

l-r: Heavy Crew members #1 & #2*, Lisa

* These guys insist their title is inappropriate, as they've lost (between them) over 65 lbs during Victoria's ongoing water shortage.

General discussion ensues as to the logistics of replacing the antechamber.

l-r: Susanne, Doug Stajduhar (UVic Chemistry Mechanical Shop), Lisa, HC #2,
Dick Robinson (UVic Chemistry Mechanical Shop), HC members #1 & #3

General relief as a plan is established.

l-r: Lisa, Doug, Paul O'Connor (UVic Chemistry grad student in Dave Berg's group, in front of HC #2),
HC#1, Dick, & HC #3

"WILL you hurry up and quit mugging for the camera?"

l-r: Doug & Dick

Doug is pleased that all the rest of the bits and pieces aren't his problem.  Not yet, anyway.

l-r: Dick, Doug & Paul

Lisa tries the on/off switch.

"Houston, we have lift-off!"

Dawn Friesen (UVic Chemistry grad student in Lisa's group) does installation quality control.

Thanks to Bob Dean (UVic Chemistry Instrument/Electronics shop) and Dawn Friesen for taking some great photos.
