360° Field Hockey
Description of game
Partners compete against 2 other groups of pairs to try to score as many goals in any of the nets available.
Offense
•focusing on dribbling to maintain possession and
•getting open for a pass
•shooting
Defense
•someone must always check the person with the ball
•blocking pass and/or shot
•both offense and defense are having to make decisions from 2 or 3 choices
Aim
To maintain possession through passing & receiving in order to score.
Structure
•gym can be divided into four quadrants for four games total
•three teams of 2 per game (may need a couple of teams of three if higher numbers)
•two teams wear pinnies, one team can be non-pinnie
•four nets one each side of the boundaries
•one ball
Rules
1.Score on any available goal – cannot score on same goal two times in a row
2.One person must always check person with the ball – cannot HIT the ball off anyone else’s stick
3.When ball goes out of bounds, possession goes to the team that has not recently scored
Modifications
•must pass certain number of times before shooting
•move game outside (more difficult to make passes/shoot on grass)
•make nets larger/smaller
