Tadao Miyamoto has a BA in Sociology from St. Andrew's (Momoyama Gakuin) University in Osaka. All his degrees in Linguistics are from the University of Victoria: a second BA, MA in Acoustic Phonetics, and PhD in Syntax (the dissertation is available from John Benjamins).

He has collaborated with Joseph Kess on a Japanese Psycholinguistics project (see Recent Works).

Dr. Miyamoto is now a Professor in the Graduate School of International Cultural Studies at Tohoku University in Japan. He is also a member of the COE project on Language, Brain, and Cognition
