Karina Fuentes and Pasha Malla’s national award nominations

The Malahat Review congratulates Karina Fuentes on receiving Honourable Mention for the 2007 National Magazine Award for Fiction for “Twinspeak” (in no. 154), which was announced on June 15, 2007, and Pasha Malla for being nominated for the 2007 Journey Prize for “Respite” (in no. 156). The Journey Prize winners are announced in March 2008.

Karina Fuentes’ stories have appeared in The Adirondack Review, Grain and The New Quarterly, and she has previously been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She lives in Edmonton.

Pasha Malla recently completed his first collection of stories and is hard at work on a novel. He lives in Toronto.
