Nicky Farrer
PhD student
Nicky graduated with a BA and a MSci from the University
of Cambridge in the summer of 2003, working under
the supervision of Scott McIndoe for her Masters
(Part III) project. Nicky began her PhD in October
2003, working under the supervision of Professor
Brian Johnson in Cambridge and Dr Scott McIndoe in
Victoria; she successfully defended her thesis in
August 2007. She investigated strategies for enabling
high-throughput analysis of organometallic catalysts
and was funded by the EPSRC.
In her spare time she likes catching up on the "cuwchur,
init" she missed out on in school due to studying
sciences, rocking out to good tunes, oil painting
and sampling fine wines.
Nicky is now working as a postdoctoral research
fellow in the group of Professor Peter Sadler, University
of Warwick, UK.
Publications: Articles in Dalton Transactions [43; see HOTP article] and a chapter in the Encyclopedia of Mass Spectrometry [E].
