Focus:
Introduction to Territory/Invasion Games.
Lesson Intent:
To engage the students in a territory/invasion framework, introducing them to the tactical problems they will face and the skills they need to address those problems. Also to assess their abilities (skills, tactical awareness, and decision making) in order to scale the following lessons.
Focus:
Moving to Space (Supporting and Covering).
Lesson Intent:
To engage students in games and activities where they can develop an understanding of the tactical importance of moving to space, while developing the skills necessary to address those tactics along with the ability to choose when and how to execute those skills.
Focus:
Evasion, Marking, and Guarding.
Lesson Intent:
To engage students in games and activities where they can develop an understanding of defending and attacking, and incorporate that with the importance of moving to space, while developing the skills necessary to address the tactical problems they face and be able to decide when and how to execute those skills.
Focus:
Adjusting and Culmination
Lesson Intent:
To engage students in games and activities where they can develop an understanding of moving in regards to the ball, the opponents, and their teammates, and combine that with their understanding of attacking and defending against an opponent as well as their understanding of where, when, with how much force, in relation to what, and the risk involved to execute the appropriate skills.
