Bio-mechanical Principles for Scooping

1.  Prep: Eyes focused on the ball with dominant foot outside leg in front of the body.

2.  Wind-Up: Move the stick across the body and place the back of the pocket on the ground slightly outside the line of body. This action is mainly controlled with the top hand. The grip should not alter through this action.

3.  Force: Knees are bent with the body dropping to get under the ball. Angle of the stick should be approximately 35 degrees. The stick makes contact with the ground just in front of the ball.

4.  Recovery: The stick head should then be brought up towards the chest. Finally, the top hand and arm moves the stick back to the stick side as a step is taken with the left foot.
