patterns and repeated)

Choreography “fading” ending |
Purposeful
movements throughout both the structures and student choreographed
movement sequences.
Ability to stay in
time with the beat.
Sustained flow with
contrasts in direction, time, weight, and effort qualities. |
The students will
need to maintain focus and awareness of those around them, since in a
line formation it is necessary to preserve the line without surpassing
the line in front of them.
Also during the
student choreography each group (6-8 students) will be given a different
focus (i.e. low levels, tandem, symmetry, etc) |
Relationship Emphasis
Throughout the
arrangement of the group choreography students will have numerous
opportunities to develop their social skills both as a leader and a
follower, especially since each student in the group must contribute to
the group composition. |
Image/Sequence
Students are
competing in a Dance Idol competition where they want to show
their skills to the judges. The judges not only want to see how well
the competitors can complete the choreographed components, they also
would like to see each competitors creative ability to do their own
choreography. |
