End ball is a basic introduction to touch football. Basically to see the skill levels of the students you are working with and allow them to have a feel of how a game of touch football runs. There is no executing plays, but it instead allows the students to learn by exploration - ways to get open, execute effective passing, communication among teammates and plays basic defence (no tackling).
Capture the ball allows students to handle the football - running, dodging. It also allows students to practice basic offensive skills - pulling flags and anticipating offensive movement. This drill also practices communication between teammates - thinking how to get the footballs and by defenders as well as quick decision making - by only allowing a maximum of 20 seconds in opponents end zone. Teammates will have to work together to score.
This drill allows for student to become conformable with passing and catching the football. The basic skills needed for the rest of the lesson. By progressing to passing on the move allows the students to test their comfort levels, within a designated space. It also allows them to choose the distance of the passes they wish to execute.
