Casper Macaulay

Casper grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he obtained an Honours in Chemistry at Dalhousie University while researching organic photovoltaic materials with Professor Gregory Welch. Casper stayed on at Dalhousie to complete his doctoral thesis on N-phosphinoamidinate nickel complexes under the co-supervision of Professors Laura Turculet and Mark Stradiotto. After traversing the Trans-Canada highway with his dog, Casper arrived in Victoria to join the Manners Group to develop new inorganic materials. While not in the lab or under quarantine, Casper enjoys climbing, ultimate, disc golf, playing or designing card games, bass guitar, emergency holiday card creation, and generally ringing for whatever intramural sports the chemistry department needs. Casper’s cooking can be described as creative.
