Etienne grew up in the suburbs of Vancouver, BC. He received his BSc. (Hons) in chemistry in 2013 at the University of British Columbia, where he performed research in under the supervision of Prof. Michael Fryzuk. He then undertook his PhD investigating the synthesis and reactivity of multiply-bonded late-transition metal complexes at the University of Calgary in the group of Prof. Warren Piers. Etienne joined the Manners group in 2019 as a post-doctoral fellow, investigating catalysts for transformations of main-group substrates. In his free time, Etienne enjoys exercising, trying new restaurants, reading, and watching movies and television.
