Jiandong Cai was born in Taizhou, Jiangsu Province, P. R. China. In September 2014, he moved to Shanghai to pursue his PhD at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, under the supervision of Prof. Huibin Qiu. After receiving his PhD, Jiandong joined the same group as a postdoctoral fellow at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in January 2020. In November 2020, he joined the group of Prof. Ian Manners as a postdoctoral fellow at University of Victoria. Now, his research interest focuses on the fabrication and application exploration of π-conjugated polymer nanomaterials. Outside of the lab, he enjoys hiking, cooking, gaming and watching films.
