Wejia was born in Changchun, Jilin Province, China. He did his undergraduate study at Jilin University. Then he moved to Stony Brook University at New York, U.S. for his Ph.D. in organic chemistry, mainly focused on photoredox catalysis. His current research interst is on the precise self-assembly of block copolymers, and to explore their applications in catalysis, biomedicine, and material science. After work, he loves bowling, fishing, and listening to pop music.
