Introduction to the Dance This dance is recommended for use with students in grades one through three. It is based on one of our favorite festive songs, called "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" by Gayla Peevey. Although this dance is fairly long, it contains lots of repetition and musical cues that will guide such young students through it with ease. This dance can easily be adapted and refined to suit the needs of diverse groups of learners.
