CONTENT ANALYSIS


Content will be broken down progressively for tactical understanding and skill development (Hopper, 1998).  The relationship will be basic skill to play, then from game play to skill development and back to more challenging game play (Thorpe and Bunker, 1989).  Skills will be broken down into off-the-ball movements and on-the-ball skills (Griffin, Mitchell & Oslin, 1997).

PREVENT SCORING
-gaining possession of the ball
-defending your territory
-stopping goals


-put pressure on opposing players
-decrease space to discourage attack
-stay between the ball and the goal
-marking opposing players
-create off side problems for attackers.


-jockeying &guarding the ball carrier
-decrease attacking options
-clearing the ball
-stop shots and passes


RESTARTING
-Throw in
-Corner Kick
-Free Kick


-create angles and space to increase options
-create outlets for restarter


-see teamates
-recognize possible outlets and low percentage passes
-short/long passes
