SECTION 1 - Introduction to the story and finding Personal Space

  Students sitting in classroom (or gym) to hear "In the Haunted House"

Ask students to pick out action words that they hear in the story

  Find personal space

 Fill in empty spaces make sure you can't touch anybody

Notes:  Introduce students to how a creative movement class is organized.  Have students find their own space away from classmates, walls and equipment.  Ask students to walk in personal space, changing directions.  Introduce students to the idea of matching, by putting them into pairs and assigning them A & B (or B & G).  Have A move around the gym like (insert animal), and B copy - then reverse.  Then have partners face each other and make movements in their own space as if they are looking in a mirror.
