The 2012 Applied Linguistics Information & Resource Fair

You are invited to the 5th Annual Applied Linguistics Information and Resource Fair. The FREE event is a celebration of language learning and teaching in Victoria. Visit information tables from Victoria language schools, UVic language departments, the UVic Bookstore, Non-profit organizations, and web resource providers. There will also be language teaching seminars by our Department of Linguistics, BC TEAL, and Victoria International Academy. Also enjoy food, drinks and go in for a door prize.

1:45-2:15: (TBD). Speaker from BC TEAL
2:30-3:00: 'Tips for Making Grammar Fun'. Amanda Cabrera and Lilla Capaldo, TESL Program Supervisors, Victoria International Academy (VIA).
3:15-3:45: 'Second Language Phonetics & Phonology'. Dr. Hua Lin, Department of Linguistics, University of Victoria.
4:00-4:30: 'Understanding your Students' Strategies for Speaking & Writing'. Trish Hannigan & Xiaoqian Guo, Department of Linguistics, University of Victoria.

2012 Applied Linguistics Seminar Series

As part of LING 376: Seminar and Practicum in Applied Linguistics, the Applied Linguistics Program offers a series of free public seminars focusing on professional development for language teaching. These seminars are free and open to all members of the community. The seminars take place on weekday evenings. A full listing of the seminars and speakers is available here.
