Description
Instead of player C returning the ball to the server he or she will either catch and toss or overhead pass the ball back to player B who will return it over the net.  The players on serve receive want to have three successful touches before the return.
Aim of the Game:
Three successful touches as part of serve receive.
Rules
1.    Ball must be serve underhand or tossed
2.    The ball can only be contacted with a forearm or overhead pass
3.    Ball must be touched three times before going over the net

Organization
This skill can be introduced by using a group from the serve receive activity who are ready to progress.  Highlight the important of height for time and how it relates to game play.

Possible Modifications
Less advanced: Have students work through the three passes using catch and toss before moving to forearm or overhead passes.
More advanced: Have player A return the ball with a forearm or overhead pass, organize a game of 2 v 2 based on multiple contacts.
