Section 1.1 Review of Curves and Parameterizations

This video is a review of several concepts we've seen in multivariable calculus, so read the list below and if you're 100% confident you can skip it. We're going to use curves, parameterizations, and the arclength parameter all over the place in Vector Calculus , so we need to make sure we're very confident with them. Specifically we'll review:
  1. Curves vs Paths
  2. Different Parameterizations
  3. Tangent Vectors and notation
  4. Arclength and arclength parameter formulas
  5. Derivatives w.r.t arclength parameter

Post-Video Activities Post-Video Activities

1.

What is difference between a curve and a parameterized path?

2.

When would you use the arclength parameter \(s\) and when the time parameter \(t\text{?}\)
