Section 5.4 Two Surface Area Examples (Parametric)

Let's see two more complicated example computing our surface area parametrically.
Learning Objectives:
  1. Describe a parametrization for surfaces
  2. Compute the Surface Area given a parameterizations
TYPO: At about 5:42 I say and write "arclength" but am clearly doing "surface area"

Post-Video Activities Post-Video Activities

1.

The next video computes the following example: Find the surface area of the surface defined by \(x^2+y^2=4\) between \(z=0\) and \(z=16-2x\text{.}\) It is better to try this as an activity (the most important part is finding the parameterization) but you can verify your answer with the following video.
